Fictitious “Thurst DC-3” 1950’s World Land Speed Record vehicle. Model was built from two Academy/Minicraft DC-3 kits. Engine housings made from plastic tube. Wheels and wheel coverings came from a 1/48 scale WWII German airplane kit. Built for a club build where we had to build a DC-3 into anything except a DC-3. Nose was cut off the fuselage and then fuselage was rotated upside-down so that the wing roots were on top. This allowed the fuselage to hug the ground without the propeller blades touching the ground.
