This kit was built as one of the Porsche Salzburg cars that raced at Watkins Glen in 1970. In addition, it is built not as it appeared during the 6-hour endurance race but rather the Can-Am race the next day. The main difference being the addition of “mud flaps” behind the rear wheels to bring the car in line with the Can-Am’s rules on full bodywork. The driver was Vic Elford.

This is a simple curbside kit (based off of a slot car) of the Chevrolet Corvette driven by Dave Heinze & Bob Johnson in the early 1970s.

Corvette C5R that raced in the 1999 24 Hours of Daytona. Ron Fellows, Chris Kneifel, and John Paul Jr. were the drivers. This model was built box-stock from the pre-painted Revell Pro-Finish kit. Fantasy Le Mans racer built from the Model Master/Jimmy Flintstone solid resin Triclopz kit. Wheels, tires, wing, roof scoop, wipers, and mirrors from Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1. Wing supports from Revell Champ Car. Decals from Colorado, Patto’s Place, and scrap box. Paint is from Black Gold. This was built for a Grand Prix Modelers Association (GPMA) group build. First time I laid eyes on the kit, I thought it screamed to be made into an endurance racer. More pictures and info on the GPMA web site.

This is the Porsche 917/20 that raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1971. It gained the names “Pink Pig” and “Truffel Jager” after someone noticed it looked like a pig and was then painted in butchers cuts. Resin kit from Starter of 1971 Le Mans racer.

This is the car that Ronnie Peterson and Andre de Adamich drove to victory in the 1971 Watkins Glen 6 Hour endurance race. First resin kit I ever built.

Model was built as the car appeared at Daytona in 1971. I scratchbuilt the sliding door windows and an extra “Indy style” fuel filler. Tail lights and running lights were recast in clear resin and then tinted. Blue decal stripes used to represent racers tape around headlight covers. Airbrushed MCW Sunoco blue.

This build does not represent any particular race car. Headlights are made from clear resin poured directly into the headlight cavities.
